Apple Radar Gets Gradient Toolbars, Still Opaque

I logged into bugreport.apple.com this morning to check on something and did a double take. Had I logged into iCloud on accident? Nope, the bug reporter just went through an iPad-like reskin.1 It resembles Apple’s webmail interface.

They’ve added a drafts feature for bugs in progress, which will help a bit. But the overall dressing around the bug reporter still doesn’t deal with the biggest challenge—it is a black box where it feels like bug reports go to die. It’s fine to reskin the service, but the graphical presentation of the bug reports wasn’t the greatest weakness in the user experience. That bad feeling comes from the lack of transparency in the bug reporting process itself.

  1. It’s iOS 6 themed…just in time for iOS 7. :)
